The much-anticipated exhibition “Garden of Dreams”, showcasing the artistic journey of renowned artist Maya Burman, was inaugurated at NayanNaveli Gallery in Greater Kailash, New Delhi, with great success. The event witnessed the gracious presence of over 200 guests, including prominent art collectors, critics, and enthusiasts, making it a truly memorable occasion. The exhibition will continue at the gallery until March 12, 2025.

A special highlight of the evening was the screening of the documentary The Golden Light, directed by Joy Banerjee, offering an intimate and inspiring glimpse into Maya Burman’s life and creative process. Part of a trilogy documenting the illustrious Burman family, the film received widespread appreciation for its emotional depth and portrayal of Maya’s artistic evolution. The screening was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session with Maya Burman and Joy Banerjee, where they interacted with an enthusiastic audience.
The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished personalities from the art world, including Maya’s father and celebrated artist Shakti Burman, as well as other notable guests like NayanaKannodia, Jatin Das, VasundharaBroota, and RameshwarBroota. After the documentary screening, attendees enjoyed a delightful Wine & Cheese session, allowing for deeper conversations and personal engagement with the artist.
Curated by Amrita Kochhar, the “Garden of Dreams” exhibition seamlessly merges Maya Burman’s early works from the 1990s with her contemporary creations, creating a unique dialogue between two distinct periods of her artistic journey. The exhibition beautifully captures her evolution as an artist and her ability to weave dreams into reality through her art.
